I don’t profess to know him well, but I’ve seen that side of Irving – personally in one-on-one conversations, and from afar with his commitment to help others.

He showed that Monday in a 17-minute interview session with reporters – just four days after the NBA fined Irving and the Nets $25,000 each for Irving’s refusal to talk to the media.

Maybe Irving didn’t want to be there on the Zoom call. But maybe he realized being there was better than weekly fines from the NBA.
